SVP Sales (AOG)

Function:
To oversee activity and management of the AOG Support Department. Develop and maintain senior level relations to maximise business opportunities and increase strong brand awareness. Ensure stability as well as continued growth in productivity across all areas. Working hours are based on a 37.5 hour week, 07:00 to 19:00, Monday to Friday. 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all customers (contracted & Ad-Hoc) AOG / IOR and out of hours’ requirements are handled effectively and the team delivers high quality customer service and response 24/7.
  • Ensure AOG sales team maximise all potential opportunities. Monitor sales activity & performance; ensure maximum revenues/profit is achieved
  • Work with the SVP Sales and SVP Support Contracts to ensure complete staff coverage of sales department throughout the year.
  • Supervise and encourage team work. Inspire and motivate the team and manage conflicts
  • Coordinate the AOG Support Team activity, delegate tasks and day to day workloads including time management to ensure all tasks are prioritised appropriately
  • Review daily and weekly reports, and organise monthly team meetings
  • Responsible for controlling all overtime within the entire Sales department
  • Control procedural changes and implementation. Develop existing platforms leading to core functions of quoting customers to a more automated system.
  • Training new staff on IT systems and existing procedures/processes whilst ensuring all training guides for the team are kept up to date
  • Ensure team answer all incoming telephone calls effectively
  • Train other departmental staff in Sales/AOG functions and processes
  • Work with SVP Sales (Regional) to ensure all regional offices and staff are supported.
  • Trade Avtrade inventory by means of sale, exchange, loan or lease
  • Liaise with Purchasing department on stock replenishment and additional inventory requirements
  • Evaluate returned units including, interchangeability, removal reason, modifications warranty, customer induced damage, BER etc. and ensure all customer responsibility costs including freight, late fees, mis-use etc. are recharged
  • Develop team product and industry knowledge, including component conditions certification, airworthiness regulations, IPC’s, alternative part numbers & aircraft effectively
  • Liaise with internal departments as the nature of the specific task may require
  • Promote adherence to Export Control regulations and ensure a full understanding of how it effects the teams’ responsibilities.
  • Assist the Head of Sales with all tasks as required
  • Any other duties as requested
Requirements:
  • Background in Aviation with minimum 8 years’ experience in a senior customer facing role
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in sales gained within the Aviation MRO industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of Aircraft Components
  • Ability to recognise and adapt to different countries and cultures and accustomed to cultural habits and ways of communication
  • Ability to deliver high level customer service and support
  • Recognise and react to customer priority requirements
  • Willing to travel extensively in the area
  • Exceptional organisation and management skills with ability to plan, coordinate and delegate work
  • Excellent negotiation skills with proven financial achievements
  • Experienced in contracts legal terms and provisions
  • Problem solving ability
  • Numerate, accurate with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Analytical thinking and reporting skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to work in a busy environment
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Excellent command of the English Language, other languages advantageous but not essential

  • Excellent computer literacy, highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
